Since graduating with a Masters Degree in Maths (First Class Honours), I have been tutoring in primary schools, adult education (GCSE) and home-ed (GCSE). I have also completed Level 2 Teaching Assistant training, and have worked in a primary school as part of this.
I believe that confidence is the most important aspect of succeeding at mathematics, and that with encouragement and directed support, students can achieve far more than they think themselves capable of. I like to work through problems together with the student, encouraging them to articulate their reasoning, thereby improving their understanding and confidence. I am calm, quiet, patient, and responsive to the student's individual needs.
Your first session is for assessing whether I am a good fit for your child, what topics your child is good at, and which areas we will cover in further sessions.
If meeting face to face is difficult, I can offer online sessions via Zoom or Teams.
Students will find that an A4 or A3 mini whiteboard is very useful during online sessions.
Sessions are booked in blocks of 5, paid in advance.
If you cannot attend a session, please inform me at least 48 hours in advance; I may be able to offer an alternative time. Sessions cancelled within 48 hours are charged at the full rate.
